The ASH4SOIL Operational Group took part in the event “Innovating to protect: knowledge, territory and business”, organised by the FIREPOCTEP+ project, an initiative co-financed by the European Union through Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional (FEDER) under the Programa de Cooperación Transfronteriza Interreg VI-A España–Portugal 2021–2027 (POCTEP).
FIREPOCTEP+, led by the University of Vigo, aims to strengthen forest fire prevention and suppression systems in the cross-border region between Spain and Portugal known as La Raya, thereby promoting innovation, cooperation and sustainability in the forestry sector.
ASH4SOIL’s participation in this event demonstrates its commitment to innovation and sustainable land management, providing attendees with information on the project’s objectives and results, which focus on the use of ash from forest biomass as a sustainable soil amendment for acidic soils.
